21st Century Learning

Project-based learning is utilized regularly in first grade.  Projects are done about the City of Corcoran, farms, and a pen pal project for each class is in the preliminary stages. Some kindergarten teachers have done projects on plants  and animals.  Both grade levels go on field trips related to a project they have completed.  Kindergarten classes go to the Chaffee Zoo in Fresno and First Grade classes visit Rosa Brother's Dairy.  Project-based learning is a work in progress.  First grade teachers have worked together to do grade level projects.  Kindergarten teachers have worked on projects in with their own classes, but not as a whole grade level.

Growth and improvement are vital components to any professional. As the instructional leader of a school, it is especially important to to continue learning and improving with the staff. This sets a good example of growth and helps to build a sense of teamwork. A leader with a focus on learning for all will have a lasting impact on a staff. This impact will affect student learning in a positive way. After all, that’s why we do what we do!
